The festival of Giaravahin Sharif is celebrated to pay respect to Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani, the respected ancient Muslim saint of Baghdad. Every Year, on the 11th day of the month of Rabi Al Thani in Hijri Calander, the festival of Giaravahin Sharif is celebrated.

The Eleventh Sharif festival is a very important occasion, a day dedicated as a tribute to Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani. People also dedicate him for the teachings imparted by him. Hazrat Jilani Saheb was not only a respected Sufi saint but also a well known teacher, and a great speaker. He was also very respected in the societ for his honesty.

On this day, while celebrating the festival, people are told about the views of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani by the Ulema and clerics. People organize many discussion programmes through out the world to inform the people about their teachings and the great work done by Jilani Saheb.

Every year, on the 11th day of the month of Rabi Al Thani in Hijri Calander, this festival of Xi Sharif is celebrated, remembering the great deeds of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani on the occasion of his death anniversary. In fact, in a way, it is a tribute to him for the good deeds and his work for development of the society.

The festival of Eleventh Sharif is celebrated in memory of the great Islamic Gnani and Sufi saint Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani. His lived in the then Welan province, which is currently in Iran. Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani is also believed to have been a relative of prophet Mohammad Saheb. He was a good-minded man. He influenced many people with his personality and teachings.

Abdul Qadir Sufi was also known as the founder of Islam. He was born on March 17, 1078 in the state of Gilan, which is presently located in Iran, and the Jilani in his name represents his birthplace. Every year the first day of Ramadan is celebrated as his birthday and the 11th day of Rabi Al Thani of every year is celebrated as the festival of Eleventh Sharif on his death anniversary.

The Eleventh Sharif is a major festival celebrated by the Sunni Muslim section. Which is celebrated in memory of Abdul Qadir Jilani, the preacher of Islam and a great saint. He is believed to have been a descendant of the Prophet Mohammed because his mother was the vansaj of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. He is also known as the man who revived Islam because he influenced many people through his liberal personality and Sufi ideology.

Republic Day Of India – गणतन्त्र दिवस भारत

Republic Day in India is celebrated on January 26th each year. This day is called as “Republic Day” (“Gantantra Diwas” “गणतन्त्र दिवस ” in Hindi). It is one of the 3 gazetted national holidays of India and a national festival which is celebrated with great patriotic fervor by the Indians all over the World.

History of Republic Day

India got Independence on 15th August but 26 January is the day which marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The Constitution was passed by the Constituent Assembly of India on November 26th, 1949 and was adopted on January 26th, 1950, completing the country’s transition from non-republic to an Independent Republic Nation.

Republic Day Celebration

The main celebration of this day takes place in the National Capital of the Country, i.e., in New Delhi at Rajpath, where the Indian National Flag is hoisted by the Indian President. Flag Hoisting is followed by the National Anthem, the march past of the three armed forces of India and different cultural programmes representing different parts of India.

The President also gives speech to the people of India. After the flag is hoisted by the Indian President at Rajpath the flag is also hoisted by the Heads of each and every big or small Organisations of India.

Republic Day Parade

Every Year the main parade takes place in the National Capital New Delhi. This parade is organized by organized by the Ministry of Defense. The Parade starts from the gate of The President’s Residence, Raisina Hill (Rashtrapati Bhavan) in Rajpath and it passes through the India Gate.

Republic day Parade is the main attraction for the visitors. The Parade shows off Indian defense capabilities and India’s cultural and social heritage.

Beating Retreat for Republic Day

The beating retreat ceremony takes place after officially showing the end of the Republican Day celebration. It is done on January 29th, the third day after the Republic day. This is done by the ribbon of three military wings, the Indian Army, Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force. The place is Raisina Hill and adjacent aluns, Vijay Chowk, flanked by the North and South Block Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace) towards the end of Rajpath.

The main guest of this celebration is the President of India who came escorted by the Presidential Guards, a cavalry unit. When the President arrived, the PBG commander asked the unit to Salute, which is the followed by the Indian National Anthem Show, Jana Gana Mann, by the Army Personnels.

The army organize a display ceremony by mass ribbons where military bands, ribbons and drum bands, bugler and trumpet from various army regiments other than the bands from the navy and the Air Force took part that played popular patritic songs like living with me, favorites Mahatma Gandhi Hymn, and Saare Jahan Se Achcha in the end of the Celebratiom.

Award Ceremony Republic Day

Every Year On the evening of the Republic Day, the President of India distribute the Civilian Awards to Indian civilians. The main attraction of the award ceremony is the Padma Awards. This is the second highest civilian award in India after Bharat Ratna. This award is given in three categories, namely. Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.

Republic Day of this year will be celebrated on Wednesday. This year the flag will be hoisted by Shri Ram Nath Kovind Hon’ble President of India. This year in 2022, 73rd Republic day will be celebrated and it is going to nominate itself in one of the most important events of the Indian history.

Raksha Bandhan (रक्षाबंधन in Hindi) means “the tie or knot of protection”. Being celebrated on the day of “Sharavan Purnima ”. This festival make the divine love and relation of brother and sister more strong and valuable.

The sister performs a Rakhi ceremony, then prays to express her love and wish for the well being of her brother; in return, the brother ritually pledges to protect and take care of his sister under all circumstances.

Among the most sacred festivals of hindu’s, the festival of “Rakshabandhan” carries utmost significance and importance. It is mainly the festival of Hindus and thus limited to the boundries of Hindu countries. However, with time it is gaining importance in other religions and countries too.

There are a lot of tales related to this festival. According to Hindu scripture “Bhavishya Purana”, Indra’s ( इंद्र ) wife Sachi tied a cotton thread on her husband’s wrist and prayed for his well being and success against demon. That holy thread was given to Sachi by Lord Vishnu.

In Ancient India Women tied holy thread on their husband’s (or dear-one’s ) wrist to pray for their safety and success in war and against evil powers . These threads ( Rakhi ) were not limited only to brother sister relation.

There are many other stories relates to Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan. It includes The story of King Bali and Goddess Laxmi, The story mentioned in the epic Mahabharata about Krishna and Draupadi.

But the story which is most prevalent and having its historical evidence is of Rani Karmavati, Queen of Chittor, who sent Rakhi to Emperor Humayun to defend her kingdom from the invasion of Muslim invader Bahadur Shah.

15TH AUGUST – THE INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA

India got free from the rule of British Empire on 15^th august, 1947. And thus 15^th august is celebrated as Independence Day all over the country. This day is the national holiday / festival of our country.

On 15^th August 1947, India’s first P.M., Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru raised the national flag i.e. “Tiranga”, above the Red Fort, in New Delhi. And thus each year this festival is started with the flag hoisting by the P.M. of the country at Red Fort followed by the singing of our national anthem i.e. “Jana Gana Mana”.

This national festival is celebrated with the flag hoisting ceremonies, singing patriotic songs, parades and cultural events. The President and the P.M. delivers speech to the country on this auspicious occasion.

There is also an interesting fact about the Independence Day. And the fact is that between the year 1930 and 1947, the Indian National Congress celebrated the Independence Day on 26^th January, which today is celebrated as the Republic Day.

This year the flag at the Red Fort will be hoisted by the present P.M., Shri Narendra Modi. He will start this ceremony for the first time as a P.M. This year India will celebrate its 68^th Independence Day.
